What is One Donation?

One Donation is a payroll deduction donation platform. Member employees use One Donation to support over 1.6 million U.S. based non-profits through one-time or recurring payroll donations. All transactions are recoded on a blockchain, providing users an immutable audit trail for every donation.

How does it work?

One Donation makes it safe and easy to find and donate to any IRS approved US nonprofits. One Donation can sync with your payroll provider via our GraphQL API to make giving to a non-profit as easy as making a 401K contribution or healthcare deduction.

What is a nonprofit organization?

A nonprofit organization or “NPO” is an IRS approved 501(c)3 tax-exempt entity located in the United States. An NPO can be a school or university, church or synagogue, or a charity working locally, nationally or internationally. In the US alone there are over 1.6 million nonprofit organizations.

FOR DONORS (EMPLOYEES)

Are my donations tax deductible?

Yes. All donations are made through a 501(c)3 non-profit partner of One Donation. At the end of the year, Our partner non-profit will show up as a line item on your end of year tax documents for easy tax preparation.

How do nonprofits get their money?

One Donation processes and disburses donations to nonprofits through Bill.com. One Donation never receives any money from your contribution except for the $0.50 transaction fee which is only transmitted after the donation has been successfully transferred to the non-profit.

I can’t find the nonprofit I’m looking for?

We are constantly verifying and adding new nonprofits to the system and improving our search feature. If you can’t find the organization you are looking for try altering your search query and make sure it makes the name of the organization you are looking for. Otherwise, use the form below and provide as much information as possible. We will verify the information and add the non-profit to our database. It only has to be added once.

Is there a minimum donation amount?

No, You can donate as much or as little as you would like.

How secure is my information and donation history?

With One Donation your identity and donation history are always secure. One Donation applies strict standards and protocols for encrypting, storing and transmitting data. One Donation is in the early steps of filing for and securing our SOC-II compliance.

Can my donation be refunded?

Unfortunately, due to laws and regulations governing charitable contributions, donations are non-refundable. All donations are processed via our NPO partner which handles the accepting and dispersing of donations. Please email us if you have directed a donation to a nonprofit in error or need to adjust a donation and, if the funds have not been distributed, we will try to resolve your issue.

How does One Donation verify the 501(c)3 status of an organization?

One Donation pulls IRS compliance information directly from an IRS database. No better place than the source.

What benefits does One Donation provide in the workplace payroll process?

One Donation saves your company time and resources in the administrative aspects of your firm’s workplace giving. One Donation tracks each employees’ donation information and sends and verifies the payment for receiving nonprofits.

FOR NONPROFITS

If I am a non-profit, how can I sign up to use One Donation?

Chances are reasonable that you will immediately be able to locate your non-profit in our database just by trying a simple search. If you are not able to locate your non-profit using this search, simply complete the add a non-profit form and we will add your non-profit to the One Donation database.

Part of that process is a follow up phone call. A One Donation representative will first answer any questions that you may have and then try to learn about how we (One Donation) can serve your non-profit best.

After a short phone call, we will be able to provide you with several tools that you can use to help raise money for your non-profit.
